Job Description

System TesterSCCI is seeking a System Tester to join our team. The successful candidate will apply robust manual and automated test engineering processes in a lab environment, working closely with internal and external customers as well as the end-user. The System Tester will develop test strategies and detailed test procedures to evaluate the functionality, safety and precision of the weapon control system. Travel may be required to CONUS locations for installation, integration and testing, working closely with other stakeholders, customers, flight personnel, and end users. This position is located in Dahlgren, VA.Responsibilities:Support the development of testable requirements and project test strategiesDevelop and document methodologies for weapon systems integration and verificationConduct test evaluation of weapon control systems during development and prior to formal release both in the laboratory and in the fieldWork with developers to troubleshoot issues found during testing and report results through documentation and ticketsParticipate in the installation and assessment of the system conducted locally and remotelyDevelop test automation tools for new and existing weapon control systemsDevelop and support GUIs using Python or C#Collaborate with the test team to identify requirements and opportunities for new toolsSupport test and evaluation of a portfolio of products to gain knowledge of the test processUtilize software development best practices and established program development processesIdentify and incorporate the latest hardware, technology, and techniques in this rapidly evolving environmentCollaborate across technical teams through regularly scheduled milestone meetingsManage tasking efficiently and meet deliverable timelines in a fast-paced environmentMaintain knowledge of system capabilities, enhancements, and functionality in advance of system delivery to end-usersQualifications:Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security ClearanceA Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline or equivalent experience such as direct hands-on experience with a weapon system applicationThree (3) years of full-time experience demonstrating the ability to design, implement and execute manual and automated test procedures as well as the ability to use test tools to perform requirements verification, environment validation and system performance testingTwo (2) years of full time experience testing software intensive DoD weapon systemsAble to work extended hours during travel (up to 16 hours/day)Demonstrated experience and knowledge of systems engineering and testing practices throughout all phases of the software development lifecycleDemonstrated strong problem solving, written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environmentDemonstrated experience developing testing strategies and detailed test procedures, based on system requirements, as well as test executionDemonstrated ability to perform verification and validation, performance and acceptance testing for the applications within the rapid development environmentPass Hypobaric Chamber trainingSupport remote travel eventsWalk flight line up to ~200 meters while carrying heavy equipment to get the platformLift up to 80 lbs in awkward angles/positionsPreferred Skills and Experience:Experience with Python, C#, or C++ and test automationDemonstrated ability to work independently, multitask, and manage priorities in a dynamic environmentDemonstrated ability to work with others to meet established goals and program schedulesDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writingSCCI is committed to providing a comprehensive and competitive benefits package to meet the needs of Employees and their families.
