Also responsible for supervising the proper administration of the American Airlines Quality Control programs including RII, NDT, major repair reporting, receiving, training and rejection/buy back.What you'll doMonitors compliance with the approved AA Maintenance Program and applicable CFRMaintains Inspection staff compliance with the designated QC and maintenance program and as directed by QC ManagerEnsures Inspection staff is following methods as required to maintain product quality necessary to meet AA standards and FAA government regulationsSupervises and manages union workforce of inspectors in the performance of their day-to-day accomplishment of audits, visual inspection, functional testing measurements, non-destructive testing, borescope and work finding of airframes components/engines repaired, serviced and / or modified by Production employeesLeads team that monitors work in progress for workmanship also for compliance with regulatory requirements and American Airlines policies, standards and proceduresNotifies and assists line maintenance in initiating the appropriate corrective actions as neededLeads team that Audits completed tasks to assure physical work accomplished matches the provided instructionsDocuments and reports any deficiencies to American Airline Quality Control leadershipWorks directly with other local support teamsBuilds strong dependable relationships with other supporting departmentsAccomplishes corporate objectives by facilitating the active participation of all team members and by identifying and removing obstacles to achieve desired resultsCertifies the air worthiness of aircraft released for service and the return of components and federal regulationsEnsures inspectors possess proper qualifications to perform their assigned duties properly and efficientlyRecommends new and revised procedures / programs for upgrading quality systems as needed, includes special assignments as directed by managementOccasional travel domestic and/or international will be required in addition to rotating shifts, nights, weekends and/or non-standard work weeksMust fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access to for privileges to airport security identification display area (SIDA), if applicableAll you'll need for successMinimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job ExperienceHigh School diploma or GED equivalency ​4 years experience in the operation and repair of air carrier maintenance programsExperience equivalent to undergraduate degree or similar technical schoolExperience in managing teams and utilizing continuous improvement processesExperience in monitoring and improving organizational performanceExperience in monitoring and improving organizational performanceExpence in monitoring and improving organizational performancePreferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job ExperienceBachelor's degree in related field5 years' experience in a supervisor role, overseeing the repair of Part 121 air carrier maintenance programs, Aircraft Training, Airbus Commercial Aircraft, Boeing Commercial Aircraft, Embraer Commercial AircraftPrior leadership experience (e.g., supervisor, crew chief, community, organizational)Experience in using Operating Rhythm to monitor and improve organizational performance, with an emphasis on the ability to develop and implement shop level metricsProject Management experienceCertified in use of Lean Six Sigma toolsPrior leadership experience (e.g., supervisor, crew chief, community, organizational)Experience in using Operating Rhythm to monitor and improve organizational performance, with an emphasis on the ability to develop and implement shop level metricsProject Management experienceCertified in use of Lean Six Sigma toolsSkills, Licenses & Certifications​FAA Airframe and PowerPlant licenseExcellent interpersonal, planning and organizational skillsAbility to effectively coordinate multiple projects at the same timeProficient with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and ExcelBasic understanding of SCEPTRE TechOps SystemMaintains a professional demeanor in a fast paced, dynamic work environmentAbility to manage projects effectivelyAbility to demonstrate sound, principled, ethical leadership traitsAbility to create and nurture a diverse work environment that promotes mutual respectAbility to recognize and encourage successful individuals and team performanceDemonstrates a calm, approachable, professional demeanor using a variety of communication techniquesDemonstrates knowledge of continuous improvement and the development of high performance teamsAbility to negotiate and lead productive meetingsAnalytical skills in root cause and interpretative skills in metrics and dataCopes effectively with stress in a fast-paced environmentWhat you'll getFeel free to take advantage of all that American Airlines has to offer: Travel Perks: Ready to explore the world?
